COMPANION CARE

The following assistance items allow participants to remain in their home environment or long term care facility. 

  • Relief of loneliness by engaging in conversation or reading to clients
  • Assisting with tasks that are difficult for the client such as changing hearing aid batteries, applying lotions, hand and face washing, brushing teeth and other light tasks
  • Taking clients for walks
  • Participating in stimulating games for the mind
  • Taking clients to activities in long term care facilities such as exercise and stretching classes, drumming classes, music gatherings and any other activity the facility may offer

Core – Assistance with Daily Life

This category of assistance relates to assisting with or supervising personal daily tasks in order for the participant to live as autonomously as possible. These supports are given to participants individually and can be given in a variety of settings, including the participant’s own home or long-term care facilities.
